My second cycle of Mumbai festivals are on the line. Dandia is my favorite Mumbaikar’s festival. Everyone dancing in the streets for their own rhythm of music and the song "Vaghare vaghare" is rocking everywhere. These nine days are filled with lots of music and dance. It is like a colorful rainbow which had come down from the skies to spread its wings in the land of mortals...
After completing my assignments I leave the office at seven and reach the streets by 7.15pm .In the streets they will announce the call for dandia dance and the rocking music’s will be running parallely. Automatically it change my mood and I will be filled with ecstasy. With this mentality I will reach my room and I think of reading some magazines, around eight I finish my dinner....
Then I walk down to watch Dandia as I see the crowds stretching and blocking the roads makes me to be exhilarated. I will find a place to stand and watch the show. Last year I saw a couple dancing with full spirit they refurbish for this year and should do the same for the rest. Suddenly a thought splashed in my mind that this season will be the best for my kind of pupil to enjoy Mumbai and its culture. The rocking beats and the clapping sound makes us energized and I will be watching till the end....
Always I have the habit of sticking with the function till the end, since it gives me the satisfaction of the day with the meaning of complete celebration. At ten the show moves to the end, everyone looks the stage with the hope it should continue for a while. Finally show ends with some prize distribution then snacks are exchanged.....
Twenty minutes after the ceremony everyone gets scattered and resumes back to their way .Now comes my time I will pull a chair and sit with my friend, spontaneously we will be discussing about the difference in the way of south India and North India. Finally we both end up with the words “And miles to go in our life”……
